With COVID-19 and the advent of social distancing, we’ve been looking for a better location for Chattanooga regional trials. If you’ve ever visited the Court of Workers’ Compensation Claims Chattanooga courtroom, you know it’s a bit “cozy.” Unfortunately, it’s too cozy for us to conduct trials during the pandemic and maintain social distancing. Since we no longer have access to the large conference room in our building to conduct trials, we’ve searched for and located a courtroom.
Beginning immediately, Chattanooga will conduct in-person trials at the Red Bank Courthouse located at 3117 Dayton Boulevard, Red Bank, Tennessee. The City of Red Bank graciously agreed to allow the Court to use their wonderful courtroom. I conducted a trial there just last week. The space allows for sufficient social distancing and is equipped with microphones, so sound quality is not a problem.
We appreciate the city’s willingness to accommodate us during this trying time. Of course, parties also always have the option of requesting a Zoom hearing or a decision on the record.
Rest assured that all social distancing and safety measures will be in place for any trials conducted at the Red Bank Courthouse. We look forward to seeing you.
