The Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board is pleased to announce the hiring of two new staff members.
Olivia Yearwood will be the Board’s new clerk of court. Yearwood previously worked in the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation as a Compliance Specialist, and before that she was a Special Agent for the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Yearwood earned a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Criminal Justice Administration in 2013. She is a 2019 graduate of the Bureau’s inaugural Leadership Academy, and she is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Yearwood is an avid reader. She additionally enjoys hiking, exercise generally and “acro yoga”–a partner-based combination of acrobatics and yoga, which likely means she’s strong, flexible and a team player. These will be great assets for her new position.
Yearwood starts with the Board on July 29.
Jasmyn McCalla joins the Board as a staff attorney in August. McCalla is a 2019 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, and she earned a bachelor’s in English Literature in 2014 from Florida Southern College. As a law student, McCalla was the symposium editor for the Tennesee Law Review, and she was a graduate assistant for the UT Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards. Between her undergraduate studies and law school, she worked for the Public Defender’s Office in Tampa, Florida.
In her free time, McCalla enjoys Harry Potter, British literature and life-guarding.
